How can Face-to-Face Counseling-Therapy help me?

Counseling sessions can help you clarify issues, gain new perspectives and work towards change. Counseling can support you to generate your own solutions to enhance, repair or strengthen relationships.

You can attend our counseling, therapy sessions either by yourself or with your partner or family (including children). I support people who are married, single, living in a same-sex relationship, separated or divorced or taking the steps to have a mutual separation.

I have provided treatment in medical clinics, schools, residential treatment centers, health centers, and private practice.

All therapy services are evidence-based and informed by research. We understand that coming to counseling can feel a little daunting; sharing some of our private thoughts and feelings with someone that we do not know can be hard and can feel a little strange. We make every effort to make you feel comfortable and at ease by offering you a safe, confidential space for you to talk openly, and at a pace that suits you. I am committed to ensuring that you will feel heard, accepted and understood and make every effort to appreciate what it is like to be you, to help you understand your feelings and emotions and find a way forward that works for you.

Emotional difficulties and painful feelings are a fact of life, but sometimes they can become so overwhelming, unmanageable, and long-lasting that we don’t know what to do or where to turn. We can become distressed, desperate, anxious, and hopeless. Sometimes we find ourselves repeating destructive patterns of thinking and behaving without understanding why. Sometimes we just have a feeling of something being wrong but can't articulate what that might be.

Lifestyle changes and talking to friends and family can sometimes help, but if that isn’t an option, isn’t helping, or you feel that the problem runs far deeper or has been going on too long then it is time to consider counseling, therapy also known as psychotherapy.

Seeing a counselor or psychotherapist will allow you to talk to someone who will listen without judgment and will support you in coping with your current circumstances. They will offer a fresh and sometimes challenging perspective that allows you to get to the root of what is troubling you and find a new way through.

"There is a difference between watching the mind and controlling the mind. Watching the mind with a gentle, open attitude allows the mind to settle down and come to rest. Trying to control the mind, or trying to control the way that one's spiritual practice will unfold just stirs up more agitation, suffering and internal conflict." -Diana (That's me)

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
